AWARDING REGULATIONS


 = With Honourable Medal “For Contribution in the Cause of Childhood Protection” are awarded:

Persons and organizations which have succeeded in areas of activity, related to the authorized tasks of The Janusz Korczak Home in Jerusalem and having international recognition, namely:

·        Public figures, artists and volunteers who rendered essential humanitarian or material support to children and teenagers in conditions of terrorist war and also in conditions of infringement of their human rights.
 

·         Authors of the best products in such fields as pedagogical journalism, children's literature and literature on childhood and youth, and also in fields of theatre, cinema, radio, TV and the Internet, related to protection of childhood.

=With Certificate of Honour are awarded:

·        Persons and organizations which rendered moral, organizational, creative and material support to society The Janusz Korczak Home in Jerusalem, including work in society projects as volunteers.

=With the Honourable Diploma are awarded:

·        Winners of Janusz Korczak literary competition.

The procedure of rewarding with Janusz Korczak Home in Jerusalem Honourable Medal.

Any applications from organizations and persons, stated in any form and sent to the address korczak_home@bk.ru are accepted.

The sponsor of the project is THE MICHAEL CHERNEY FOUNDATION.

The applications will be considered by Janusz Korczak Home Rewarding Board with participation of the sponsor’s representatives.

Note: Neither Board, nor sponsor will bear obligation to discuss any claims connected with rewarding procedure and its results.

The Board considers the applications and, as needed, requests additional materials regarding some facts and/or circumstances.

Note: Publications in mass-media are not considered the exhaustive ground, but can serve as indirect arguments for the reward.

The Rewarding Board includes members of the Janusz Korczak Home in Jerusalem non-profit organization board and persons co-opted in case of need.  The head of the Rewarding Board is the chairman of Janusz Korczak Home in Jerusalem.

The Rewarding Board considers the applications presented by the Chairman of the Board and approves the list of the awarded. The decision is coordinated with the representative of the sponsoring foundation.

Each medal has a serial number embossed on its back. The medal is handed in together with a special certificate bearing the same serial number. The account of awarded medals, certificates of honour and diplomas is kept by the secretary of the Rewarding Board. Each awarded is provided with a special form, in which his (her) personal data and the basis to rewarding are entered. The forms are stored in the archives of the Board.

Medals, certificates of honour and diplomas are prepared with sponsor’s support, which is mentioned in the Diploma and pointed out at the rewarding procedure.

The awards are handed over in solemn conditions.

The data about the awarded is published in mass-media.

The awards were established by The Janusz Korczak Home in Jerusalem on August 1, 2005.

The Chairman of the Janusz Korczak Home in Jerusalem
is Michael Polsky.

The first rewarding ceremony has taken place on September, 1st, 2005 , the second, on January, 8th, 2006 at ceremonies summing up the Janusz Korczak literary competitions.
